54 A scruffy roguish smuggler and procurer of rare and magical items. This gruff, rough and ready character has spent much of his life sailing close to the wind and who is not adverse to breaking the law. He is also highly intelligent, surprisingly well travelled and seems to speak every language known to mankind. He and Arthur Canarthy form an unlikely friendship as they endeavour to help the children find their parents."Flibberty Gibbets! Which is more than can be said of me 'ole mate Arthur Canarthy! I know 'e means well but 'e ain't exactly cut out for lookin' after ten year old twins. Truth be known 'e's about as much use as a brass band durin' a one minute silence of respect!! Gawd, I tell you wot, I'm glad I 'ave me trusty old satchel and magic compass or we'd be in a right pickle an' that ain't no lie.
Anyway I'm off for a quick game of cards an' a nip of rum before I 'it the sack, gawd knows I'm gonna need a decent night's kip!"
